Police revoked driving licences at a rate of nearly one per hour Saturday morning, stopping four impaired drivers between 1am and 6am across western Luxembourg.

Luxembourg police responded to multiple drink driving cases in the early hours of Saturday morning, with four separate incidents occurring between 1am and 6am.

The first incident occurred at 1am on the A13 motorway toward Pétange, where a speeding driver collided with another vehicle between the Ehlerange Tunnel and Aessen before fleeing the scene. Police intercepted the driver on Avenue de l’Europe in Pétange, where a breathalyser test confirmed alcohol impairment. The individual received a fine and had their licence immediately revoked.

At approximately 3am, officers discovered a stationary vehicle at a Strassen traffic light on Route d’Arlon. The driver, who had fallen asleep at the wheel, also tested positive for alcohol intoxication.

The third incident took place around 4am near Rodange, where police stopped a speeding vehicle travelling from France on Rue de Longwy. This driver similarly showed signs of intoxication and lost their driving licence.

The series of violations concluded at 6am on the A13 near Differdange, where police observed a vehicle swerving erratically. After stopping the car on Rue du Gaz, officers confirmed yet another case of drink driving, resulting in another licence revocation.
