Dad throwing bricks in Hanley riots dodges jail in ‘extremely unusual’ case

1. Sounds like a proper hero:

   “A dad who threw bricks towards police and protesters at the height of the Hanley riots has been spared jail. Hasnen Iqbal attended the violent disorder in Hanley and spent most of the day trying to dissuade other Muslims from taking part.”

   Course he did

   “She said Iqbal’s previous convictions were when he was **aged 18 or 19.** He is now a father, a husband and a valuable member of the community.”

   Surely they must know how old he was? He’s only 28 now.

   “Iqbal, of Havelock Place, Shelton, pleaded guilty to violent disorder.”

   Could he perhaps be related to this Hasnen Iqbal (news from April 2025)?

   *Iqbal, of Shelton, Staffs, also admitted affray and a separate charge of conspiracy to* ***sell class A drugs.***

   *Iqbal was sentenced to a total of three years and one month.*

3. It’s hard to argue against the people saying there is a two tier justice system when you have examples like this.

4. When you compare this to the convictions of the Southport rioters, it’s absolutely clear we have two tier justice system
