  2. Good for you Ty. Phil Dunphy would’ve done the same. 😊

  3. What is it with famous people running away to Utah? What’s so special about Utah?

  4. I don’t blame him. It’s not the best place in the world but the people here are so much nicer. Everyone in LA just feels non genuine, almost like they’re acting. The hordes of homeless are the only thing that feels real in that town now.

  5. What’s your daughter think about you forcing them to Mormonville?

  6. If UT wasn’t populated by Mormons it’d be a top 10 state. It has everything Colorado has plus everything MT has but with steeper chutes bigger lakes and better climate.

  7. His family is in SLC and they own several restaurants and bars. Many people need that family connection.

  8. Wait until he finds out about the “poop hole loophole”

  9. Utah seems cool but the stupid liquor laws would kill any hope of me ever living there.

  10. Rich man has no issues living anywhere he wants

    What a story.

  11. Why would it be an issue? If work is more important than you own children then don’t have children.

  12. Is he marrying them? Why Utah? Lots of other rural places lol.

  13. He has a few bars here in Utah and they have happy employees with a cool vibe. I’m happy for him.

  14. Utah sucks. Sure the mountains are pretty but the schools are bad, the inversion makes it so kids can’t even have outside recess some days, the great salt lake is drying up and would poison the whole state if the toxic shit on the bottom is blown around, we are on water restriction every summer but all businesses/churches/city buildings are allowed to water every day and outside of watering times and yes Utah Mormons are way worse than Mormons anywhere else. The church is too wrapped up in the government here and its ass. But these aren’t rich people problems so yeah I’m sure he loves it here.

  15. To say you’ve seen every corner of Utah is bold, you must have a hell of an off road rig considering 3/4 or more of the state is only accessible via remote dirt roads

  16. I’m sure it’s been said, but he owns some bars and other things here in Salt Lake. 15 years ago, we used to go to that bar every week. “Bar X”and “second on second”. I think. I don’t remember exactly.
Also, in Salt lake proper and Park City, the Mormon population is now double digits behind the super red Mormon cities like Provo.

  17. His new short story audio book is really fun and feels so much like him. Huge cast too

  18. Ty lived in Salt Lake since 2008. And he only lived in LA during filming.

  19. Reading the comments here as someone who grew up in UT, I’m blown away at the ignorance about the Mormon population there. I grew up in a 80% Mormon town where my family was not. It was a very normal childhood. Never felt excluded in anything because of religion. Plenty of other people to befriend who weren’t Mormon either. And Salt Lake had a lesbian mayor a few years ago, it’s actually a fairly liberal place all things considered.

  20. Ty Burrell owns several establishments in Salt Lake City, Utah, including Bar-X, Beer Bar, and The Cotton Bottom Inn, and also co-owns The Eating Establishment in Park City, Utah, if I’m not mistaken, with Julie Bowen.
