I’d nearly be willing to bet this court challenge does not get a chance to get anywhere before they collapse the whole Rwanda deal without telling us they gave £120mn+ to Kagame that they can’t claim back,
>They cite an Amnesty International report published in 2019 which describes an incident in February 2018 in which at least 11 Congolese refugees were killed when the police opened fire on protestors in Karongi town and in Kiziba refugee camp, both in western Rwanda.
>
>The report states that one year on, rather than investigating the unnecessary and/or excessive use of force by police, the Rwandan authorities have arrested and prosecuted refugees for their involvement in the protests.
>
>The lawyers also quote the US government’s latest Trafficking in Persons report for 2021, which accuses the Rwandan authorities of detaining thousands of potential victims in district transit centres “without conducting adequate screening or referring identified victims to proper care and assistance”.
>
>The report adds the Rwandan government investigated fewer trafficking cases and prosecuted and convicted fewer traffickers compared to the previous year, and that it “lacked a victim-witness support programme”.
but…
Priti Patel was briefed that about 4,000 people that have been deported by Israel to Rwanda , have all but disappeared, been trafficked and abused, she can hardly claim to be ignorant to harm that will occur.
What a bint
Fuck her. Her family came on a free pass from Uganda and this is how she treats others. Maybe her fam should be sent back to India or Uganda.
This whole Rwanda bullshit has been a fucking gambit since day 1. They absolutely *knew* this farce would face a huge and probably insurmountable legal battle, which they will very likely lose.
Although they don’t care about losing because then they can point to it and say “hey, we tried to fix it by sending the buggers ~~back~~ to Rwanda, but the bleeding-heart-metropolitan-liberal-elite fucked us!”
In the very unlikely event that they defy the odds and actually fucking win they get to do what they wanted. It’s absolutely a win-win to them.
In the meantime they can shove some horrendously large sums of money around and that’s always good.
As well she should … christ on a crutch, could the UK do anything else to encumber their safety? Why don’t they just kick’em to the curb now… oh, that’s right, they are by this means.
Of course, with the Tory’s parliamentary majority it only requires a vote to make all this totally legal now…
>“UNHCR, however, is concerned that these persons have not found adequate safety or a durable solution to their plight and that many have subsequently attempted dangerous onward movements within Africa or to Europe.”
Kagame gets his payday and the UK washes its hand of them putting the problem on other countries and now that they have biometric data and a new asylum law they can refuse their claim immediately if they turn up in the UK again.
