  1. This is just pathetic. Just redistrict democratic states. At some point you have to play the game on a level field.

  2. Call your reps and demand that they fly to Sacramento and encourage Cali to redistrict.

  3. Who’d want to hang around with a bunch of Texas Republicans anyway?

  4. How do we donate to support the cause? $500 a day fine needs to be dealt with

  5. Why announce where they are going, that’s just stupid. Disperse across the country, take that vacation you’ve always wanted to Japan, etc.

  6. I don’t know why the media isn’t framing this as a brazen attempt to by the Gaggle of Pedophiles to usurp representative democracy

  7. Fight fire with fire. The way the Republicans have trampled over the democratic process deserves every bit of pushback and fight against them.

  8. Listen now this is something that can actually work…. even if it means them having to stay out of the state until 2026. CALL THEIR OFFICES AND DEMAND IT.

  9. The republicans will just do it anyway. Does anyone really think the Texas Supreme Court or the nations Supreme Court won’t let them do anything they want? Laws are only for democrats anymore.

  10. This is great. California, NY, and Illinois should move forward with plans to eliminate every red seat they can. Colorado should join them.

  11. Pritzker is definitely in my top 10 these days for Democratic lawmakers

  12. Texas Republicans surrendering their state’s sovereignty to the federal executive. So much for their “Don’t Mess With Texas” attitude. As expected, when told what to do, they jump to it like a bunch of little bitches.

  13. Making as big a stink out of this is absolutely the right move.

Democrats also need to start making a plan for the next Congress to refuse to seat representatives-elect from disputed districts in Texas if they gain the majority. Dare the Supreme Court to try and stop them and then pull what Andrew Jackson did with the Cherokee if they do. Grow a spine. Put a stop to this.

  14. Didn’t Wisconsin Dems do the same thing back in the day?

I remember this because they made a funny parody of On Wisconsin about it.

Edit: Here is the news article from 2011 https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/wisconsin-democrats-hiding-face-legal-political-consequences/story?id=12972163

Edit 2: This was also the protest in Madison where the protestor yelled “Fox Lies” at the Fox News reporter. The reporter said he was from Fox Business and the protestor yelled back, “Fox Lies……about business.”

These were the good old days, folks.

  15. Well, that is prtizkers official unofficial announcement he is running in 2028.

  16. Fuck it. Gerrymander it all. And keep the Texas dems away. Sabotage, sabotage, circumvent every rule the GOP violates with impunity. No kid gloves

  17. Second time Illinois has opened its doors to other states. Wisconsin democrats went to Illinois when Scott Walker removed collective bargaining from state employees

  18. Send some of them to Minnesota! We’ll make extra hot dish!

Even if they try to leave, they’ll have to stand by the door for at least another 20 minutes while a new topic of conversation comes up.
