Amsterdam calling for the final time on my recent trip, I don't want to spam the subreddit but I (hope its allowed) wanted to mention a restaurant we visited.

We drove over to Jieznas to visit the former home of my Sweety's grandmother and then down to Birštonas to walk up to the Birštonas Observation Tower – which I really enjoyed visiting again. The views are great on a nice day and its more than possible to walk further if you want.

For lunch we visited a restaurant just by the river on the edge of Preinai called Sodas. Actually I've been there before but they now have a new building by the river. Its a fantastic place, they have a little art gallery too and a nice terrace by the river now. The food is fantastic – I gotta mention the carrot cake (pictured) was brilliant, I have to be a bit careful with sugar as I'm type 3c diabetic, but man was it worth it. The staff were great too I must say. We were a party of four people and all had different things which were, without exception, fab.

What I dont really understand with this restaurant is there is no visible signage you can see from the road to know its there at all, it was just a google maps discovery for me. So I hope its ok to mention it here because they are doing something really well at this place and they deserve to succeed in my modest view 🙂

  1. The restaurant is rated 4.7 with over 1.6k reviews, I don’t think they’re struggling.
