SRINAGAR: US President Donald Trump reiterated his role in mediating global conflicts, claiming credit for brokering a ceasefire between India and Pakistan and ending five wars worldwide.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump criticized radio host Charlamagne Tha God for being unaware of his accomplishments, including ending the long-standing conflict between the Republic of the Congo and Rwanda, stopping Iran’s nuclear ambitions, securing the US border, and boosting the economy.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, as per Reuters report, stated that Trump has ended conflicts in regions including Thailand-Cambodia, Israel-Iran, Rwanda-DR Congo, India-Pakistan, Serbia-Kosovo, and Egypt-Ethiopia—averaging one peace deal per month. She argued this record warrants a Nobel Peace Prize.

However, Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar refuted claims of any communication between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Trump between April 22 and June 16. He reaffirmed India’s position against third-party mediation in its relations with Pakistan, emphasizing that any talks must be bilateral and handled through official military channels.
