Hotel employee accused of using a makeshift device to access teen’s room

It was probably one of the scariest things like that has really ever happened to me. This is what 17-year-old Charlotte woke up to around 12:30 Friday morning. You can even see the loop hooking onto the door handle. That’s when Charlotte woke up her two water polo teammates in the room. It’s like our first thought was that like someone was trying to come in there and like kidnap us. Charlotte, who asked us not to show her face, says she shot the video of the wire and then grabbed it. Go away. The three teenage girls were staying at the Marriott Delta Hotel in Garden Grove before a water polo tournament. Charlotte’s mother, her coach, and other parents filed a police report. Charlotte’s mother, Tiffany, says she met directly with the hotel GM, who she says told her the incident involved a room check. They did confirm that it was an employee. I was told that he was going to be terminated.

A hotel employee in Southern #California is accused of attempting to break into a room where a teen and her two teammates were staying. As @NBCBayArea reports, hotel owner Khanna Enterprises says the worker tried to “enter the room with his own makeshift device” and “is no longer with the company.” Garden Grove police said they determined the incident “was not a criminal act.”

  1. Hotel management here… we have keys to every door no need for that!! Those girls are lucky they woke up. That's scary and needs deeper investigation

  2. Worked as a night manager for 2 years plenty of reasons to do room checks especially if your day crew is bad about cleaning em, or desk staff consistently miss marks rooms. I started doing room checks every night after I have a late arrival family walk into a occupied room. Anyway the protocol is knocking x2 wait 30 seconds then use the key card if the room is marked vacant.

  3. Thats called a "fish hook". There's no reason to do that for a room check. There's enough computer resources to do a room check. Get an attorney and sue marriott out of existence.

  4. Just terminated? He will work again in another hotel. So what will they do?just wish luck to the next victim?
