Most Russian soldiers killed in action in Ukraine come from country’s poorest regions

  1. No! And we who thought that most of the recruiting is being made among the upper middle classes of the big wealthy cities …

  2. I mean, that’s pretty standard even in countries with a genuinely voluntary professional military. Kids with better options don’t, as a rule, join the army.

  3. Since most Moscovian possessions are dirt-poor shitholes, how is this surprising?

Moscow method, stolen from their former Mongol masters:

    1. Conquer some village and install terror through sistematic rape, looting and mass assassinations.
    2. Locals become poor
    3. Enlist the starving, degenerate locals to conquer the next village.

Except for Moscow, all of Russia is poor by method and design.

Are there any independence movements in Russia’s Far East that can take advantage of this? Or are they so thoroughly used to being cannon fodder for their White Russian overlords that it’s become engrained in their sense of self?

  5. Don’t forget draftees from eastern regions are far less likely to have family connections to Ukraine so you don’t have to kill next to your uncle’s neighborhood
