  4. Trump just had *concepts of plan to build a two hundred million dollar golden ballroom in the White House with Project 2025 funding. That’s not something he’d do out of the goodness of his little heart. He plans to stay for the long haul. He wants the US to be a monarchy where he’s king for life and then his kids can rule. And then their kids, etc.

Problem is, knowing Trump’s previous track record his first term ended with an entire pandemic unleashed on us that almost claimed his own life and by the time 2028 rolls around we’ll be in a far graver crisis that will make the 2020 pandemic look like a picnic by comparison by his own doing and I wouldn’t guarantee long term sustainability as long Trump remains in power.

    In short we’re only one far worse pandemic or some other major crisis away from total collapse.

Trump will be gone from the political scene in a few years, one way or the other, but even if he doesn’t go for it someone on the right *will* want to set themselves up as dictator for life, and it’s best to start aggressively pushing anti-autocracy things *now* rather than once that autocrat is looming on the horizon.

  16. He’s redecorating the WH and adding a ballroom for a reason. He’s not adding the ballroom because he wants to make extra space for events for future presidents to use.

    He intends to stay, and I wouldn’t put it past the Supreme Court to allow him to bypass the Constitution to run for a third term.

    * **Maxwell, a person charged with human trafficking and enticing minors to travel to engage in sexual acts, was moved to a minimum security prison. This is highly unusual for someone with these charges. This was following several private conversations with Maxwell by the Trump admin.

  20. The problem with this sort of messaging is that even entertaining the idea that he could run for a third term is a trap. The only conversation that should be had to do with that is: how the American people are going to send a very clear message that he can’t, and it won’t be tolerated. Accepting anything else is already allowing them to seriously break the rules, and if they’re breaking the rules that badly, they’re going to break all of them.
