> Latest figures show there were 10,254 waits of two years or more for planned treatments in Wales, compared to just 158 in England.
This is horrific
I have been financed by NHS Wales to have a private op, after a four year wait. It’s absolutely bonkers
Unbelievable they couldn’t cope with the pace England were treating patients 🤦
Well, this is a consequence of devolved healthcare; sometimes Wales will do it better, sometimes England will. There can be quite a lot of variance even between trusts in the same country, because the NHS is highly decentralised in both England and Wales.
Pants, I’m just now realising this might apply to me if I end up needing cataract surgery. I’m already waiting a year just to find out if it’s bad enough to warrant it.
Took me 4 years to get my surgery and then they never even gave me follow up or an explanation of results.
