Took him back to the woodpile where his mates like to hangout. No idea how he got in!

  1. When I was in primary school the first girl I fancied was called Rebecca and we had a personal [tray-style drawer](https://www.ukeducationalfurniture.co.uk/prod/white-and-grey-mobile-open-tray-storage-units/) at the back of the classroom for our bits and pieces (whatever kids have – no idea).

As part of my master plan to woo her I put a £1 coin and a slow-worm I found on the field into her drawer.

I did not say they were from me so I’m not sure how the plan was supposed to come together.

  2. Slow worm be like “I’m fast asleep fuck boi… But only side to side”

  3. I’m guessing the fast worm ran away as soon as you entered the room?

  4. I’ve not seen one of these in years!

My mum woke me up by putting one in my bed once. Got me outta bed pretty quick.

  5. When I was little kid I went to the shed one day (this was in Chatham, Kent) and one of these was there. It slithered away but not before freaking me the hell out and ensuring I’d never enter that shed ever again…

  6. That’s a lovely thing to find 😊

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a slow worm in real life. Despite spending most of my waking time as a child to young adult outside in fields, parks and woods when not in a classroom.

This sub always makes me both smile and feel left out.

  7. Used to catch them as kids and put them in jars to show to teacher. They are now rare, so a protected species. Well done on returning him to a good home. We did have real venomous snakes as well (Adders) but they were quite rare and unlikely to be confused.
