I’m doing some historical family research and would really appreciate help from anyone familiar with Slovenian archives related to post WW2 history.

My family (ethnically German/Austrian) lived in Radlje ob Dravi and was affected by the events of 1945, including expulsion, confiscation of land and internment. My great-grandmother died in Sterntal (Strnišče) camp in late 1945 or early 1946. I'm trying to better understand what happened and where I can find relevant documents.

I’d be very grateful for help with the following:

  1. Which government archives or institutions hold records related to the expulsion of ethnic Germans and confiscation of property in 1945 in or near Radlje ob Dravi?

  2. Are there any sources, archives, or commissions that document Sterntal camp inmates, including death records, victim lists, or grave sites? My great-grandmother is mentioned on mass commemorative plaque at Radlje ob Dravi cemetery but I wonder if there might be any records available as to where she's actually buried.

  3. I’ve attached a photo of my great-grandmother's baptism record showing modern annotations. Could someone help me translate and interpret them? Especially in terms of legal meaning or context.

I understand this is a sensitive topic and I want to be clear that I am not trying to provoke or revise history, just to understand what happened to my own relatives. If this post touches on complex emotions or political views, I kindly ask that those who feel offended by the subject refrain from engaging.

  1. Disclaimer – not a lawyer.

    The annotations roughly translate to:

    ABOVE: _Citizen of Socialist Republic of Slovenia and SFRJ_ (this is inconsistent, SFRJ didn’t exist until a few decades later, but what they mean is whatever form of Yugoslavia existed at that point) _from Aug 28 1945 to Dec 18 1945_. And then the part after that quotes a specific legal document from 1996 that supports the claim she was a citizen for that period.

    BELOW: _Proclaimed dead Dec 18 1945_. And again, everything after that is a source quote of the exact legal document containing that proclamation.

    If you would need to prove for any reason that this person was a citizen of Slovenia/Yugoslavia in that period or that they are officially dead, the quoted documents could be used as a source. Beyond that, there’s not much legal meaning or context to them IMO.

  2. In the upper part it says:
