Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has visited troops on the frontline near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv region in the northeast of the country.

Zelensky said he spoke with commanders and soldiers about “the situation on the frontline, the defense of Vovchansk, the dynamics of the battle”, and the drones and financing available to soldiers.

Zelensky noted that defenders are facing foreign mercenaries from China, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Pakistan, and African countries as well as Russian attackers.

Today, I was with those defending our country in the Vovchansk direction – the warriors of the 17th Separate Motorized Infantry Battalion of the 57th Brigade named after Kish Otaman Kost Hordiienko.

Ukraine’s State security service SBU says it struck five fighter jets, with one warplane “completely destroyed”, at the Saky airfield in Russian-occupied Crimea.

One Su-30SM aircraft was destroyed and one damaged. Three Su-24s were struck.

An aviation depot was hit, with estimated losses of tens of millions of dollars of weapons.

“The successful special operation of the SBU in Saky is another step towards weakening the enemy’s ability to wage a war of aggression against Ukraine. The occupiers must remember that they will never feel safe on our land!” said the service.

The Su-30MS is a twin-engine, two-seat multi-role fighter aircraft in the early 2010s. Each costs between $35 million and $50 million.

The Su-24 is a twin-engine, all-weather supersonic strike bomber produced since the early 1970s.

Ukraine’s General Staff claimed the destruction of a Russian S-300 long-range surface-to-air missile system in the occupied area of the Zaporizhzhia region in southern Ukraine.

Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelensky has posted about Russia’s latest killing of civilians:

Russia is hunting civilians all along the entire front line. The killing of people. The killing of children. Deliberate FPV drone strikes on first responders and medics arriving to help after attacks – all of this is typical for every city or community within reach of Russian drones. The Russian army simply kills everything that is alive.

The world has enough power to stop this and protect people. We count on strong decisions from the United States, Europe, and the world regarding secondary sanctions on Russian energy trade and Moscow’s banking sector.

Ukraine Presidential Chief of Staff Andrii Yermak has said of Donald Trump’s warning of US nuclear submarines to former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev:

The concept of peace through strength works.

The moment American nuclear submarines appeared, one Russian drunk — who had just been threatening nuclear war on X — suddenly went silent.

Russia understands only one thing: strength.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said later in the morning, “Russia is very attentive to the topic of nuclear non-proliferation. And we believe that everyone should be very, very cautious with nuclear rhetoric.”

At least seven civilians have been killed and at least 13 injured, including a 4-month-old girl, by Russian attacks across Ukraine over the past day.

Air defenses intercepted 161 of 162 drones and a Kinzhal ballistic missile.

Casualties were also reported in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The strike early Monday near the Archeda station set afire a “technical building”, said Volgograd Governor Andrey Bocharov. Trains were delayed up to 90 minutes. A Ukrainian channel claimed the railway’s control room was hit.

Bocharov said there were no casualties.

The attack was the second on the station in a month.

Ukrainian drone debris also damaged a nearby high-voltage wire, cutting off electricity in the city of Ilovlya and nearby villages. Airport traffic in Volgograd and Tambov was restricted for three hours.

Drones hit a key railway hub in Russia’s Volgograd region — the station is reportedly on fire.
The same railway hub connects Russian supply routes to southern part of Ukraine. Disrupting it can delay Russian military logistics, including fuel and ammo transport. #StopRussia pic.twitter.com/khkAoslXN6

Late Friday and early Saturday, Ukrianian drones struck two oil refineries; an airfield; two companies specializing in elements for missile systems and the Russian space program; Russia’s sole facility producing air defense command centers; and a section of the Central Asia gas pipeline, the third-longest in the world.

Three young Russians who took their selfie in a front of a burning oil depot have been detained in Sochi in the Krasnodar region.

Two women and a man, aged 19 to 21, filmed themselves to the song “Raspberry Dawn” by Miyagi. They have been charged with “failure to comply with the rules of conduct in an emergency or the threat of one”.
