The Londoner’s investigation into a Airbnb arbitrage scheme involving some of London’s priciest properties is a great read. These schemes take so many rentals off the market and turn them into short-term lets. Also the guy behind the scheme has some mad connections.
Also shows the problem of overly cumbersome legal procedures which bad actors can exploit.
Lots of “Heavenly Stays” being advertised online, still.

Dodgy af through and through. The fact they were one degree of separation away from individuals under EU sanctions says everything about who they associate with. And the brother still employed at the world bank… 😂

My friend contracted on 16 flats in London Fields. All immediately going to a short term lets company, despite no hotel use class. So depressing
Surely the answer to this would be for the landlords or their agents to get a booking at the flat he was illegally subletting, and then refuse to leave?
