ATHENS –
Greece has earned top distinctions in two of the most significant and reputable award institutions of the American tourism market. Specifically, for 2025 Greece was named: ‘Favorite Country’, for the sixth consecutive year, at the 11th The Trazees Awards of the website trazeetravel.com; and ‘Best Family-Friendly Multigenerational Destination’, for the third consecutive year, and the second most popular ‘Family-Friendly International Destination’, after Spain, at the 8th Wherever Awards of the website whereverfamily.com.
According to a press announcement by GNTO, the two websites of the American publishing company FXExpress Publications are parallel online editions of the magazine “Global Traveler”, with “Trazee Travel” targeting millennial travellers (up to 40 years old) and “Wherever Family” focusing on family travel, offering information on a variety of destinations, family compositions, and travel budgets.
Every year, thousands of readers of the two websites record their preferences for U.S. and international destinations – hotels, airlines, airports, cruise companies, travel apps, credit cards, and other travel industry brands – in a survey conducted online with open-ended questions. Voting for the 2025 awards began on September 20, 2024, and concluded on May 16, 2025.
The award ceremony for all the winners of this year’s The Trazees and Wherever Awards will take place at a joint event in Los Angeles on August 19, 2025.
Consul General of Greece in Los Angeles, Christina Valassopoulou, will receive the Greek awards, representing the GNTO (Greek National Tourism Organisation) Office of North America.
