Priya Mudahar, who attends Etonbury Academy in Arlesey, has beaten the competition from across Great Britain to be named as one of the semi-finalists.
Priya, who spends a lot of time with her grandparents in Letchworth, said: “I’m so excited to have made it to the semi-final. It’s a great achievement!”
This is Priya’s first pageant experience. Asked why she decided to take part, she said: “I wanted to challenge myself in a new way.
“When I heard about the pageant, I thought it would be a great opportunity to step out of my comfort zone, meet new people, and grow more confident.
“It’s not just about the looks, there’s so much more to it, like public speaking, community involvement, and showing who you really are.
“That’s what really made me want to be a part of it.”
To get to the semi-final stage, Priya has completed an initial pageant application and submitted photographs, as well as completing a detailed questionnaire designed to highlight her character, aspirations, and suitability for the competition.
Priya’s mum, Nicole, said: “We feel incredibly proud of our daughter and all the hard work she’s put into preparing for the pageant.
“For her, it’s about so much more than just the stage – it’s about building confidence, learning how to carry herself with poise, and developing strong communication skills.
