In terms of Day 9 of training camp, what stood out the most?

Here are three observations from the ninth day of Bills training camp:

Cook could drag on

The holdout that is ongoing for running back James Cook will not be continually mentioned here, but one more time it is worth noting. This being… it is now considered that exact word, “ongoing.” Cook entered the second day of his holdout on Monday, meaning it was not going to be some kind of one-and-done stance. He is dug in as Cook sat out for the second-straight day.

During the actual workout, one of the top takeaways was two defensive backs that are considered “under-the-radar” players.

The DB spotlight is being taken by first-round rookie Maxwell Hairston and No. 1 cornerback Christian Benford. On Monday, both Tre’Davious White and Cam Lewis were the standouts.

According to reports including the team’s website, Lewis had an interception during team drills. Meanwhile, White had multiple pass breakups.

What Beane said

Circling back to Cook, General manager Brandon Beane spoke via WGR-550 radio about the situation. Beane tried his best to downplay it, but did admit the team was surprised by Cook.
