  1. These jobs should never have came under sponsorship jobs in the first place.

  2. It’s not a company that should be sponsoring roles in my opinion. Working for any government body should surely be staffed by citizens of that country. Plenty of people in the U.K. would love to work for London Underground, it makes no sense.

  3. “Qualified customer services assistants earn from £44,140 to £55,323”

Free travel too. That’s crazy. While I applaud TfL for actually bothering to pay their staff properly in the current dogshit situation of London and setting a standard, everyone else really needs to pick up the pace. I know qualified engineers not even on 30k.

  4. We definitely need to bring people overseas to stand around by the ticket barriers and do nothing all day, it’s vital work.

  5. I really think it cheapens what it means to say someone has “built their life here” by applying it to people who have spent only 1-3 years working in this country.

  6. Hold up! So people from abroad were SPONSORED to come to London to get 40K a year jobs??? Like what? 😂

  7. There are thousands+ in various occupations/sectors that are in this same situation. If you follow the changes labour implemented recently you will know that the salary bar has been significantly increased and over 180 roles have been removed from the eligible for sponsorship list.

  8. This is honestly heartbreaking, most of these workers have been keeping the city running, especially through tough times like the pandemic

  9. Great. One garbage headline and the racists are out in force.

And fuck you in advance. Don’t give me that ‘differing views’ bullshit. You don’t know the first thing about immigration control and border policy.

    You know what you are.
