Employees in Croatia’s information and communication sector earned the highest salaries in 2024, with an average monthly net wage of €1,761, according to the latest analysis by the Financial Agency (Fina). This figure is 50.3% higher than the national average wage among private-sector employees, which stood at €1,171 — itself a 14.1% increase compared to 2023.
The tech and communications sector employed 54,477 people across 9,659 companies last year, reflecting both strong demand and rising compensation in the digital economy.
Coming in second were employees in the financial and insurance sectors, earning an average monthly salary of €1,515 — 29.4% above the national average and up 15.3% year-on-year.
Other high-paying industries include electricity, gas, and utility supply services with an average wage of €1,496, and the mining sector, where workers earned an average of €1,424 per month.
