Great place, lovely people. Pretty typical European capital city
I visited last month and I like this city. 😊
Never been there, but it’s a beautiful city that’s on the list
Lovely little city. My favorite of the three Baltic ones for sure.
I’ve been there twice and enjoyed both trips.
I was there to visit Christmas market and I am going there in 2 weeks. One of the few cities I am willing to visit more than once and invest my vacation time and money to.
Huge fan. Impressive food and mind-blowingly good gin.
One of the loveliest cities in all of Europe. Amazing people, fantastic restaurants.
Lovely city centre where every other shop is an amber jewellery vendor
Going there in october and im really excited. Also, if someone has some tipps for nice food and interesting things to do, I listen 😅
Very nice. Old town rather small. Avoid when cruise ships are present.
First time I went was on the backend of a Baltic trip 10 years ago, and after having seen Vilnius and Riga, Tallinn’s Old Town felt the most curated. Lovely and beautiful, but a bit soulless. Patarei was open and really enjoyed wandering through the abandoned buildings.
Second time around earlier this year I focused on the Telliskivi area and hardly spent time in the Old Town: it won me over and really enjoyed Talinn. The Old Town still felt very polished: lovely, just not my preference.
Easily as beautiful as Prague with a fraction of the tourists.
Went there in January with my gf, really loved the city. Good cafes , nice museums , lovely architecture. Fantastic and affordable food and beer. Cheap flights from London. Everything you want from a city break really.
Really cool city.
Never been but would love to go!
Extremely underrated. Very nice
Tallinn in Estonia is so much better then Tallinn in Latvia.
P.s. beautiful city.
Nice place and cheap alcohol what I bring home 😀
Customer service is not very happy in many places, or many clerks, workers and waiters seem to be grumpy.
If it has to be honest..
Very, very cute city with some very good food and drink places. The hotel I stayed in was one of the best in my life. I was there in winter so it must be 2x better in summer.
Negative surprise was how unfriendly people were, at a point it ruined my experience.
**I should perhaps start by saying that I don’t have a specific opinion about Tallinn or Estonia in particular, but rather a few general impressions about the Baltics.** So: I don’t really have a well-founded opinion. I’ve never been there, nor have I been to the country. But I can say something about the image or the cliché that I have in my head, as someone from southern Germany. I’ve heard that you have incredibly good internet. A surplus of women. And that the women are supposed to be very attractive. That you have a very young average population. That you are convinced Europeans and that your economy is on the rise. And that you want a clear separation from Russia and are oriented towards the West.
Really nice, people very friendly. Old town is very picturesque. Very cold!
I’ve traveled all over the Baltics.
I’d rank the Baltic capitals thusly:
Vilnius > Tallinn > Rīga
That being said, each has their own unique beauty.
I’d rank the countries differently:
Estonia > Lithuania > Latvia
I visited the old town near Christmas I think it was some years ago, day trip. It was really cozy. Did the usual. Wandered around there and later bought some alcohol before going back to Helsinki by ferry. 😅
My dad and his best friend loved it there, it was their last target on a road trip from southern Germany through Poland and the Baltics.
Sadly, the friend passed away several years ago and this trip is one of the last memories of my father with him.
So Tallinn will always be in his memory as well.
