Defence Minister Ivan Anušić has shared footage on social media showing the capabilities of Croatian-made FPV (first person view) drones during a military demonstration held yesterday in Knin.
The video, which has since gained wide attention, shows the drone flying directly into a target before an explosion and flames appear at the site of impact.
The FPV drone is a type of unmanned aerial vehicle operated in real time, with the pilot navigating using a live video feed from a camera mounted on the drone itself.
“This is new weaponry that marks a significant step forward,” said Minister Anušić. “The Croatian Armed Forces have, for the first time, demonstrated the combat use of Croatian-made FPV drones in an exercise carried out by the Special Forces Command. The drill simulated the destruction of a fortified enemy position.”
The drones showcased are produced by the Croatian company Orqa. They were previously presented to the public during the recent military parade in Zagreb, where they were displayed mounted on various military vehicles.
“Our technology, our knowledge, our company. Last year, 180,000 units were produced. With strategic planning, we could manufacture several million,” Anušić stated last week. “Croatia has placed orders, as have several major global military powers.”
Hrvatska vojska jučer je po prvi put prikazala djelovanje borbenih FPV dronova hrvatske proizvodnje kroz pokaznu vježbu Zapovjedništva specijalnih snaga u kojoj je demonstrirano uništavanje utvrđenog neprijateljskog položaja.

The introduction of these drones highlights ongoing efforts to modernise the Croatian Armed Forces using advanced solutions from the domestic defence industry.
