  5. Ooohhhhhhh. Did they write a letter? And did they then bravely send it to the government of one of the few countries on earth that allows free speech? So brave, soon brave. Not like those wimps in China and Russia, that face terrible consequences from their government. They wrote a LETTER.

    Edit: I have been listening to a lot of comedian Brian Regan recently, so when I wrote this, it sounded like him in my head. And if you can read it the same way, I think it adds something to it.

Hey, I got a better idea: sign on to do some independent films and help movies get financed that way and put a few thousand struggling union workers to work so they have their health care and pensions and don’t have to change careers. It can takes as little as 3 works days from most of these folks to secure financing. Sam Jackson can (and very often does) work 1 day and it gets a movie made.

  40. Look, I’m all for Hollywood speaking out and trying to help the world, but can they actually do something USEFUL? Christian Bale is building homes for foster kids, Arnold Schwarzenegger builds shelters for homeless vets. Things like THAT are helpful. Signing an “Open Letter” does fuck all.

  41. Okay, good intentions. But right now is one of the worst times to consider nuclear disarmament considering both Ukraine and other nations have shown, in this decade, how nuclear proliferation ensures your nation’s sovereignty.
