Rand Paul tries to speak sense to Larry Kudlow on tariffs: “We’re getting $2 trillion in taxes on top of all the other taxes that we have. So ultimately conservatives have to decide — do they like taxes because they’re Donald Trump’s taxes?”

  1. Maybe i am a novice here, but wouldnt lowering income tax and making higher sales tax provide more money to the economy both from allowing people to buy more (hence more production hence more jobs) and also more investments from individuals which would boost the stock market?

  2. The US economy was great for rich people the last 30 years of globalization but the working class has suffered from the offshoring. I read the articles in asian news where they say Americans aren’t able to do anything and have to buy it all from Asia, as if it’s about the natural superior intelligence of asians not the 50 cents per hour wage. I will never forget watching one mainland Chinese arrogant rich lady who owns a major store chain there emphasize to an interviewer how *they will never sell anything made in the USA.* It’s not about good business but supremacy.

A mindset benefitting Asia’s and America’s upper class. The media has backed this view wholeheartedly.

That popular answer has always been the wrong answer. It’s time to try something else. This seems like as useful of a wrecking ball as any. People who can’t afford rent don’t care about rich peoples’ big tech stock portfolio just like the rich people don’t care if they sleep in the street or not.

  3. Trump is about to say he’s never heard of Rand before, never met him, but he’s heard from people that he’s stupid, and probably a DEI hire.

  4. You really think someone from the capitalist elite cares about the middle class?
    That’s hilarious.
