    French authorities have arrested a Moroccan man after he allegedly lit a cigarette off a memorial in Paris.

    The moment at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, which includes an ever-burning flame, under the Arc de Triomphe was caught on video, leading to outrage from French leaders.

    Newsweek reached out to the French Interior Ministry for comment via email Wednesday afternoon.

  6. Well, at least he didn’t burn his face. That flame is a litte larger than one from a lighter, so this is a bit dangerous. (Gust of wind at the wrong time, etc.)

    EDIT: Lived in France for years and literally saw a man in Nantes threaten to stab a group of people just to get a cigarette to smoke. Being this committed to smoking is a uniquely French phenomenon and this Moroccan is more French than anyone who has downvoted me.
