An investigation by Senator Jon Ossoff’s office uncovered over 500 credible reports of human rights concerns at U.S. immigration detention centers. Allegations included physical and sexual abuse, with children and pregnant women reportedly among those affected.

Some detainees said they were denied medical care and held in overcrowded rooms with only one bathroom. The report also detailed an incident where officials used flash-bang grenades after a toilet was flooded in protest.

Additionally, the investigation found that some U.S. citizen children with serious medical conditions, such as cancer, were detained alongside their parents. The findings have raised concerns about detention conditions and the treatment of vulnerable individuals.
