"The announcement by Prime Minister Nawaf Salam after a nearly six-hour Cabinet meeting, came shortly after Hezbollah’s leader said his group would not disarm and warned that the Iran-backed faction would resume missile attacks on Israel if military operations against them intensify.
Salam said the government asked the army to have the plan ready by the end of the month for discussion and approval.
The government’s move came as Beirut is under U.S. pressure to disarm the group that recently fought a 14-month war with Israel and was left gravely weakened, with many of its political and military leaders dead."

Here comes another civil war for Lebanon. But good luck to the Lebanese Government in any case as I suspect you will need it.
HTS in Syria could be a good ally here for Lebanon.
I had totally forgot about these guys lmao. Israel will definitely help Lebanon in this since they weakened hezbollah to this point already. They won’t let them come back.
> “If you look at the deal Barrack brought, you won’t find a deal, you’ll find dictates, stripping Hizbollah and Lebanon’s power . . . it’s completely in Israel’s interest,” he said.
He’s not wrong. What is America even offering Lebanon to do this? They’re risking outright civil war, all to bend over backwards for the US and Israel.
This is Trumps’ standard ‘negotiating tactic’ that he’s using on everyone – all sticks, no carrots. It’s worked on his ‘allies’ (vassals), but not his enemies.
