Brexit felt all the way down in Falkland Islands as fishing exports take a hit after squid orders in EU dry up

  1. It should be noted that, during the Brexit negotiations, the European Commission refused to include the Falklands in the TCA deal, despite the UK’s protests that the islands are an integral part of the UK family.

The EC maintained that negotiations on behalf of the overseas territories went beyond their mandate.

As the article points out, talks are ongoing to have this redressed.

  2. U.K. should just come back into EU for fuck sakes… the powers in the world need a strong EU to balance and having U.K. outside makes little sense to me

  3. I like squid. I like seafood generally. Pity it’s so expensive here and always cheaper, and better quality, in Spain. Perhaps we’ll start to see more of it at better prices here now.
