    “If it is not genocide, it looks very much like the definition used to express its meaning,” Teresa Ribera – the European Commission’s second-highest ranking official – told Politico in an interview published on Thursday.

    Yet they all go to holocaust remembrance and tell each other, never again. Hypocrites.

  3. I don’t think you can look at their refusal to allow any food into Gaza as anything but a calculated attempt to stave the entire population to death

    I expect that eventually other countries in the area will start a war to put a stop to it on religious grounds if nothing else and the whole cycle of generational suffering will shift back to a fresh 10 – 20 year round of Israeli’s being attacked by rockets. And then Israel will start another attempt to crush Gaza again.

    Unless everyone decides they’ve had enough it will never end.

  7. Shooting children in the head and laughing, blocking aid in the streets (done by civilians), various ministers that openly say that they should kill them all and invade. But sure “it looks” like a genocide lmao.

    You can support a country’s right to existence but not support their violence and blood thirsty government.

  12. This is what the USA and Israeli side haven’t fully understood. When the evidence of genocide flips over from possible to probable, EU countries become obliged to sanction Israel. It won’t be a political decision and that point. The only political decision is how closely the EU should look at the evidence and how long to string out the assessment. But once it flips over, Israel will be sanctioned, divested from and boycotted and plenty of other countries will follow.

This is how it has been every time, just wait a bit and after a while, we’ll know who the bad guys are and can feel a bit sorry and maybe donate something.

  23. Ireland, Spain, and Norway have been calling it out for months, and a significant number of people on this sub shat on them at the time. People need to have a deep look at themselves if they’re only now waking up to this when the signs have been there for years that this was always the end goal.

    America does a lot of shit yet you see many Americans all the time claiming to be embarrassed for what their government does.

    Germany did a lot of shit and the Germans regularly show their sorry for what was done.

    The only people that I never really saw criticize the actions of their government are the Russians and Israelis.

    The people *in general* may be great, but from a cultural perspective it leaves a bad taste when you realize this.

  30. You don’t need to agree with the EU or support any particular side to see that what’s happening in Gaza is horrifying.

    You can be completely against Hamas and still say that leveling entire neighborhoods, killing thousands of civilians, and targeting basic infrastructure is not defense. It’s something else. And people are right to call it out.

    This isn’t about politics anymore. It’s about basic human dignity. If we can watch this and feel nothing or worse, justify it then something’s gone seriously wrong in us.

    Every human life matters, no exceptions. And we should never get comfortable with this level of suffering.

Legal genocide isn’t defined by headlines — it’s defined under the Genocide Convention, and it requires intent to destroy a people in whole or in part. Israel has delivered over 1.8 million tons of aid into Gaza during this war — 1.3 million tons of that was food. The population hasn’t declined; it’s grown. Death toll is tragic, yes — but if this were genocide, the numbers would reflect something entirely different. Believing experts is fine — but selectively quoting activist groups while ignoring international law and context doesn’t make your argument credible
