  1. More!  We need so much more that democrats will be sitting on the stairs because there are not enough seats.

  2. They have no choice. Trump is moving to forcefully take the democrats back to Texas, at gunpoint, and hold them hostage until the new maps are forced through.

If democrats don’t fight back, there will never be another fair election again. Republicans have cheated for decades while democrats hem and haw about taking the high road.

    There are no rules anymore.

  3. Don’t really have a choice. Once someone plays by different rules, you either play the same game or it’s over.

  4. Time to play ball. The party of no rules needs to be met head on with just as cleaver methods. Dems and independents are good at talking the game but not pushing boundaries. Lets hope that changes

  5. Any previous understanding of the “rules” of politics has been gone for a while now (I tend to think blocking Garland’s nomination to the Supreme Court in 2016 was the first real sign that we’re in different territory). That it’s taking Democrats until 2025 to figure this out and act accordingly has contributed greatly to the totalitarian coup we’ve seen enacted. Better late than never!

  6. Every blue state should do this in response to what they are doing in Texas. Fuck ’em, make every seat possible blue by any means you have available.

  7. I wouldn’t be surprised if Republican House members in districts of blue states start speaking out against Texas starting this trend, as blue state retaliation would be putting them out of a job soon.

  8. Not taking any preparatory measures would be negligent. Why would they not prepare?

  9. Im guessing trump wont send the FBI when the republicans flee to deny a quorum.

  10. I can’t wait to read the legal gymnastics the Supreme Court produces to strike down liberal state redistricting while leaving in place the fascist maps.

  11. This Supreme Court is like a terrible team of referees in an NBA game. They’ve let it get far out of control, and now this is where we’re at, where Democrats have no choice but to try and apply 1% the tit for tat. Scotus will choose to assist more unconstitutional, decorum-breaking Republican moves and simultaneously consider striking down Democratic motions, with zero logical or ethical consistency. Complete disgrace.

  12. Looking forward to moving from “Signaling” into “Doing”. Let’s get this done.

Send these two governors praise for their efforts. They need to hear that we want more of this. If Republicans go low, we put a boot on their face.

  13. About time these State Governments *finally* figure out that this isn’t about principle anymore, this is becoming a legit game of thrones power-play. Win or die.

  14. Do it regardless of what other Red states (welfare states) end up doing.

  15. The GoP has been playing by different rules for far too long while Dems take the high road. The avg American doesn’t even know that district they’re in, who their rep is, or what gerrymandering even means. Just fucking do it.

Either start playing by the same rules or we will slide into the Federalist Society’s remaking of this country – which is one where the rich control everything and democracy is even more of a farce than it already is.

  16. Can they just make this a trigger law?

I mean go full bore to be ready, but only implement if Texas does first.

  17. Thankfully democrats have decided to pull their heads out from within their own bodies for once and realize that we’re in a political crisis. Unilaterally disarming oneself because it’s the morally right thing to do is foolish.

It’s not even logically inconsistent if you believe, as I do, that gerrymandering is a problem that can only be fixed at the federal level. An act of Congress or more likely a constitutional amendment. In order to get those votes we have to elect Democrats. So yes we have to gerrymander a bit to end gerrymandering.

We won’t get anything if we lose.

  18. Unfortunately, all of the redistricting plans will be challenged in court. The Supreme Court will then rule that the plans in red states are constitutional, the ones in blue states are not.

  19. I will laugh my ass off if Texas tries to sue claiming that they can’t do that cause it’ll create an unfair advantage

  20. Don’t equal what MAGA is doing in other states, DOUBLE IT

  21. Democrats need to realize the Republican party in this country is not playing by the rules anymore. They will take as much as they can get away with and right now the Democrats are allowing them to get away with everything by taking the high road. Its far past the time for hardball with these fascists!

  22. Every blue state should have the plans for this already on back burner

  23. And not ONE MAGA or Republican better open their mouths about it either. If they are OK with Texas doing it, they MUST be OK with other states doing the same.

  24. Illinois, Washington, Oregon, New Jersey, Michigan, Maryland…. Pack. And. Crack. Gerrymander them out of existence with D+15 districts

  25. Tomorrow we’ll be told California and New York started it

  26. NYEXIT!! I don’t know if there’s similar ground level discussions in CA, but let’s get out of this toxic relationship!

  27. Fire with fire. I dont WANT them to do this but clearly the time has come for the old liberal idea of respecting traditional standards for government and accountability is GONE. This isnt politics anymore…this is a knife fight. And I dont want to be all Hindenburg in the complicity of losing this country toward fascism.

  28. So will SCOTUS say it’s okay for red states but not for blue?
