  1. Key piece of information missing:

The property was managed on Ali’s behalf by two lettings agencies: Jack Barclay Estates and Avenue Lettings.

There are landlords who are hands-on and landlords who are hands-off. While the optics are most troubling, without a doubt, the actions of a terrible agent are not necessarily her fault.

I had a terrible agent some years ago who deviated from my instructions and acted against my interests, ultimately leading to an adjudication by TPO in my favour on all counts.

    Politics be politicking here.

  2. If I had to guess probably long term tenants and they were paying sub market rate rent. They moved or EAs got rid of them and then they hiked the rent to slightly above market value. I remember we moved out of our house in Yorkshire and they hiked the rent £200 a month immediately after.

  3. Legally she is totally righteous.
Politically she is a total embarrassment.
Let’s see how her peers circle the wagons with the former argument

  4. Comes to something when you are agreeing with the Tory party chair:

“Keir Starmer promised a government of integrity but has instead presided over a government of hypocrisy and self-service. Once again it’s one rule for Labour and one for everyone else.”
