  11. The issue is less whether Trump is lying about material things, degrading the republic into a dictatorship, and ruining the economy and foreign alliances. The issue is do the highly numerous low information voters ever plan to do anything meaningful about it?

    A fair number of them dislike a lot about this administration and his first. It doesn’t matter only because they would never ask congress to impeach and remove any R president no matter the transgressions. These are people who say they want fiscal conservatism and law and order but hire a crackwhore deficit factory who is a rotten businessman and a career criminal starting with tax evasion on his inheritance using shell companies. And yes, he took that CPA with him from dear old daddy Fraud Trump and yes it was that other convicted guy.

    More Trump people could be truthful and get away with it with the voters of not the führer because they are so childlike and naive they aren’t paying any attention anyway. Look, it is easily known that Trump stole a $74 million tax refund from the poor people who voted for him by writing off the Chicago Trump Tower twice using…wait for it…shell companies (in this case partnerships). Nobody who votes for him would care enough to change anything they do. Common clay of the New West.

  12. If you watched the clip, he tried first to answer several other questions that weren’t asked, tapdancing around all of it, and making pre-excuses.

    But the fact is, when Trump says tariffs have brought in hundreds of billions of dollars to this country, it’s a LIE. That money was ALREADY HERE. It was paid by AMERICAN businesses to the government (also known as a tax).

    Bessent (who knows better) jumps ahead to say that foreign companies may lower prices to compensate – he omits that that would necessarily also lower tariff revenue. He says companies may absorb the tariff in whole or part and not pass it on to consumers – he omits that this necessarily means eating into their profits. The profits of U.S. companies.

    It’s a scam. It’s a massive tax hike that lands mostly on the working class. And Bessent of all people ABSOLUTELY knows this.
