And instead of investing in remainder of the society that actually has a hope of carrying the country out, the conservative neoliberals that people love to vote for keep funneling tax cuts onto the industry and making everyone pay increased electricity bills for the sake of industry. As well as continuously funding pensioners that will be the last generation to benefit from this system. They just want to squeeze this system till it crashes and damn the consequences and the future of younger people. But people refuse to vote for someone else.

3. It’s amazing watching the series of errors the Germans made over the last 15 years that has led them to this position.

   Especially from the heights of the early teens when (at least internationally), it was a “Germany can do no wrong”. I mean I even believed it to an extent.

   Now all their industrial advantage was either stolen by Chinese companies or is being subsidized to an extent they can’t compete, their disastrous energy policy has them over the barrel, and a “nazi-lite” party is the what, second largest party in Germany?

8. This is why VDL wants to make Trump happy. It really has nothing to do with pleasing Trump but it has everything to do with European corporate elites panicking at the thought of sluggish sales forecasts. Europe exports much more to America than, say, China and the latter is just waiting for an opportunity to dump cheap goods in Europe as soon as possible. If that happens there won’t be any European factories left except for defense (sound fmailiar?).

10. The problem with Germany started with green energy, Covid, Ukraine war and now Trump. I image that even if Germany go back to buisness with Russia it will not be that good like it was in the past. China market don’t need German cars anymore and Trump is killing the motorisation segment.

12. Just saying, the elected the Green Party when climate chang was “the thing” in 2021. Although it was a coalition known as “Ampel” (Traffic light) between SPD, FDP and Green, the Green had the ministerium of economy. They did literally everything wrong that someone can do wrong.

    The world changed in 2022, when Putin attacked Ukraine, but the Germans didn’t really change. They still got on with “Save the world!” by trying to stop climate change. They have these delusional thoughts, that the 1-2% of CO2-emissions would not just slow down it, it would stop climate change. For some time, they prayed to Greta Thunberg like a prophet. It became some kind of religion for them.

    To come back to the topic, the “degrowth” was also a part of the strategy: Less industry means less CO2-emissions. The Green came up with weird ideas like “Green Steel”, that should be CO2-emission-free, which can never compete with regular steel even when it would work properly. They wasted billions in subsidies for bizarre stuff.

    They also shut down the last nuclear power plants and instead fired up the coal power, but still, claiming “You need to do more for stop climate change”, while raising the CO2-emissions at the same time. Worst hypocrites ever.

13. If China can dismantle a german factory, and rebuild it in a record time, maybe,Poland, Romania, Bulgaria etc… can do it at a lower pace.

14. It seems that manufacturing capacity in Europe is shifting from Germany to Spain.

15. I mean…start cracking out gov contracts like it’s 1939. Get those factory fires burning.
