This video on X (formerly Twitter), claiming to show people moving from Gaza to settle in Sweden, is FALSE.
The video shows individuals aboard a plane waving, with some of them wearing similar attire.
The text accompanying the video reads, “A Swedish NGO is taking people from Gaza to Sweden. They will be settled in Sweden. The interesting thing is that there is no girl from Gaza in the plane. Swedes should think that to whom will these young men marry? It is obvious that these people will convert Swedish Christian girls and marry them. Sweden is already struggling with Islamic riots. Riots are breaking out in many cities but still the Swedes are not coming to their senses.”
The video was shared by another user making similar claims and urging other people to leave Gaza.
This video is circulating amid the ongoing Gaza conflict, which began in October 2023 and has reportedly claimed over 60,000 lives. However, the claim that it shows people fleeing Gaza for Sweden is false.
A Google reverse image search traced the footage to a TikTok post by Rawahel Charity, an NGO that promotes football for Palestinian children.
The caption on the video posted on 10 July 2025 in Arabic translates to “To Sweden”.
Further review of the TikTok account shows a post of the same boys at a football event, captioned: “Thank you from Gothenburg.”
Using this as a clue, PesaCheck conducted a keyword search and found a 3 August 2025 Instagram post by the charity. It revealed that the team had returned to Palestine after participating in a football tournament across Sweden, France, Denmark, and Norway, debunking the claim that a Swedish NGO had relocated them from Gaza to Sweden.
Additional online searches led to news reports confirming that the under-14 team from Tulkarm, a city in the West Bank, was on a 46-day football tour in Europe.
Other fact-checkers have also debunked this claim.
While Sweden has previously faced unrest over Quran burnings, there is no evidence of similar events occurring now. Furthermore, no credible sources confirm the existence of a Swedish NGO currently resettling people from Gaza.
PesaCheck has looked into a post on X claiming to show people moving from Gaza to settle in Sweden and found it to be FALSE.
