  1. No idea who the hell Boy George is, but you would know amongst 100 people of random nationalities, standing next to eachother, that this one is Irish.

  2. I knew most of these but the Angela Lansbury one is surprising.

Maggie Q from mission impossible 3 has an Irish dad I think.

  3. John Lydon aka Johnny Rotten lead singer of the Sex Pistols. His parents were from Ireland. His autobiography was titled: ‘Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs’

  4. We’re missing a big one here, George Harrison’s dad was from Dublin.

Edit: I remembered this incorrectly. He had an Irish granny.

  5. I knew about boy George my Dads side say he’s a distant cousin.

I think Jimmy Carr has Irish parents also, but tbh these would be just plastic paddy’s 🤣

  6. Well going back to historical figures, U.S. President Andrew Jackson’s parents were both from Carrickfergus, the guy who freed Chile from the Spanish, Bernardo O Higgins had a father from Sligo. Anthony Quinn the Mexican actor had an Irish father.

  7. Was in digs during college in Sligo & my landlady alluded to shifting Mel Gibson (my words, not hers) when they were teenagers as his family visited Sligo a few times when he was young.

  8. Colin Farrell has Irish parents as far as I know. I think Cillian Murphy and Brendan Gleeson might, too.

  9. I know the point of this reddit thread is Irish people with Irish parents but I’ve heard Donnarumma, Italy and PSG keeper has an Irish grandparent which is pretty cool.
