Slovakia’s trade surplus narrowed to EUR 334.4 million in June 2025 from EUR 580.7 million in the corresponding month of the previous year, below market expectations of EUR 354 million surplus.

Exports grew by 0.9% year-on-year to EUR 9,157.2 million, mainly driven by a 13% increase in miscellaneous manufactured articles.

Exports rose to both the EU (0.6%) and non-EU countries (2%).

Meanwhile, imports increased by 3.9% year-on-year to EUR 8,822.8 million, mainly contributed by an almost 20% increase in the Miscellaneous industrial products.

Imports from EU countries increased by 4%, while imports from non-EU countries declined by 4%.

For the first half of the year, the country’s trade surplus shrank to EUR 1 billion from EUR 2.8 billion in the same period last year.
