After an action-packed Summer League last month gave fans their first taste of this promising draft class, NBA fans will be itching for the start of the season. In the meantime, fans can catch their favorite European stars locking horns at the FIBA EuroBasket 2025.
With a host of NBA talent featuring in the tournament, this edition is expected to be one of the most competitive ones despite the absence of French star Victor Wembanyama.
But before the heavily favored German team tips off their tournament, they will play six exhibition games, the first two of which will be against Luka Dončić’s Slovenia.
Where Will the Slovenia-Germany Game Be Streamed?
Germany’s inaugural exhibition game against Slovenia will be streamed on Courtside 1891, FIBA’s official streaming service. The platform will also stream all tournament games, including the exhibition games.
Germany and Slovenia face off on August 8 at 2:15 p.m. ET, marking the first time these two teams will be sizing each other up this summer. The game will be played in Ljubljana, Slovenia, after which the teams will head to Mannheim, Germany, for a rematch.
Which Stars Will Feature in the Exhibition Showdown?
The star to watch in the upcoming exhibition games between Germany and Slovenia is undoubtedly Luka Dončić. Slovenia’s head coach, Aleksander Sekulić, has confirmed that Dončić is expected to play in the exhibition game against Germany.

The Los Angeles Lakers superstar, who recently signed a contract extension, has joined the Slovenian national team’s training camp and is reportedly in great shape after primarily prioritizing his fitness this summer.
While the German squad is stacked with talent, they will be without some of their key players for the tournament, including Moritz Wagner. However, they still have a strong roster featuring players like Dennis Schröder, the 2023 FIBA World Cup MVP, and Moritz’s younger brother, Franz Wagner.
Schröder will be expected to step into his role as a floor general, while Franz will be one of the team’s primary scoring options. The team also features young talents such as Tristan Da Silva of the Orlando Magic, with their real strength lying in the collective play and chemistry.
Although the games are sure to excite, it is essential to remember that they are exhibition games. Both teams will likely use matches to experiment with different lineups, strategies, and roles. The focus will naturally be less on the result and more on getting players back in rhythm and building chemistry.
