Hi, I and couple other friends are planning to do Rallarvegen this weekend (9-10 Aug). This past week's weather did not seem too great on yr.no and while rain seems to not be very heavy for the weekend, it seems to be awfully windy (11 m/s windspeed with gusts of 18 mps). So we are planning to start from Finse stasjon on 10th morning and then ride till Flåm. I have warned the two companions that it will not be easy given weather and terrain.
We are planning to rent the bikes from Finse instead of carrying our own. I have done Myrdal to Flåm 3 years back, but first time doing this long distance in such weather. (Note: I don't think it is long distance, but I have seen many suggestions to do it in two parts)
Any suggestions on what should I do and what I should not? Also, if anyone has idea of how the trail is currently, especially from Finse to Myrdal. Given the weather, I will probably walk the initial downhill from Myrdal, and then just ride the rest happily.

Just be careful & don’t go too fast. Be aware of the recent weather may affect trail conditions.
Test the brakes on your rental bikes.
Take food and drink for the day, and warm clothes in case you get stuck somewhere with a mechanical & have to wait for the bike rental place to come out.
