  31. People should have come to grips with this not having a fairytale ending years ago.

    We’re at a stage when Europeans are using money they don’t have in their budgets to finance systems that US can’t produce in a reasonable time frame and Ukrainians are running out of bodies to man. While they’re in their last chain of urban fortifications east of Dnieper. That goes it’s likely everything to the east of that river goes, since it’s a lot harder to hold flat fields of grass.

    After at least 2 years of kicking the can down the road, this likely isn’t “just keep a stiff upper lip” / “I reject your reality and substitute my own” territory anymore. Things don’t just magically work out just because you wish they would really hard and upvote uplifting things on reddit.

    As brutal as it is, a rotten deal might be salvaging what can be salvaged at this stage.

  39. The only way this really can end is with Ukraine joining NATO. They will not agree to any treaty or protection agreements since it’s already been shown that a few countries will not honor them. They need and deserve a seat at the world table.
