Bulgaria is Moldova’s sixth most important economic partner in the European Union. In 2024, the total value of trade exchanges between the two countries increased by 14.8% compared to 2023, and exceeded 267 million dollars.
“Trade with Bulgaria is growing, which means more opportunities for our companies, more Moldovan products on EU shelves, and more confidence in what we can build here at home,” Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Economic Development and Digitalization Doina Nistor said.
Among the most important products exported from the Republic of Moldova to Bulgaria are sunflower seeds, rapeseed, sunflower seed oil, gas meters, petroleum oils, wires and cables.
In terms of imports from Bulgaria, the Republic of Moldova purchases windows, wires and cables, cleaning solutions, plastic packaging items, plastic wires and sticks and food products.
Romania ranks first among Moldova’s main trading partners in the European Union. Germany ranks second, Italy third, Poland fourth and the Czech Republic fifth.
