  16. It’s a stupid suggestion for a number of reasons, but even just on the idea of language – consider all the occupations and colonisations in history, the occupied people don’t typically start speaking the occupiers language. English for example is not the language of India.

    This is such a stupid thing Americans say and anyone here who is British saying “yeah we would” should be ashamed to call themselves British and no offence, but you need to learn history.

    Hitler never had any plans or policies in place to push the German language onto France or Britain. This is a historical fact. This is why when Americans say, “You’d be speaking German if it wasn’t for us” is so stupid. (And of course the fact we already won the battle of Britain a whole 14 months before the Americans joined the war ffs)

    Even France under occupation was never made to speak German with absolutely no plans to force it.

    Hitler also liked Britain and hoped Britain would join him. He wanted Germany to rule the land and Britain rule the sea. This is because of Britain’s German ancestry, etc. He thought we were the same. So even if Starmer was in charge and didn’t go to war against Germany, we wouldn’t have been invaded or made to speak German. This is just basic fucking history.

    There are several countries that otherwise lost major wars and yet retain their own language *even* countries that faced complete takeover invasions.

    If the Allies had lost we would *still* be speaking English just the same way that the US have lost every war they’ve had and yet still speak complete idiot.
