It appears the British public continues to harbor resentment toward Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, with one royal expert suggesting “it will go on as long as the palace wants it to.”
With speculation about a potential September meeting between Harry and King Charles, there are signs the palace might be softening its stance, creating space for reconciliation. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean Prince William is ready to welcome his brother back with open arms.
According to Ian Pelham Turner, Harry isn’t the only one facing criticism — William is reportedly being “aggressive” with staff and demanding to be addressed as “sir.” The former royal photographer observed, “There’s something going on with William.”
We had the opportunity to speak via Zoom with Mr. Pelham Turner, who was contracted to work at the palace during the era of both Princess Diana and the then-Prince Charles. Pelham Turner transitioned from photography to television and maintains close connections to Royal Family developments, the Mirror US reported.
As part of the media circle covering the royals, Pelham Turner draws on his insider knowledge, reporting that William’s staff members are voicing concerns about the Prince of Wales.
During public royal engagements, William presents himself as approachable and gentle, yet behind the scenes, sources suggest he has become more demanding and stern. The royal commentator remarked: “Now, for me, we hear a lot more now that more and more allegations, and that’s all that you can say about William, are coming out.”
He continued by sharing insights into the Prince’s interactions with his team: “It’s coming out that his staff find him, at times, very aggressive, and I know one of his many supporters, for his housing charity, and this guy is a volunteer, and he was telling me that William is constantly on to him all day, all night, saying, ‘How much money have we made? How much money have we made?'”
Pelham Turner also noted a shift in Prince William’s demeanor, observing that while he was more laid-back in his younger years, his approach has become stricter as he’s aged, particularly with how he prefers to be addressed. “From what we hear, there’s been a subtle change in William, anyway, in the past, when Harry was around, and they were in their twenties and their thirties, they could always be addressed as William and Harry, now he doesn’t allow that, he wants to be addressed as ‘sir.'”
In recent developments, representatives for Prince Harry and King Charles held a meeting in London, which some speculate could be the initial step towards mending ties between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, or at the very least, with King Charles.
However, the absence of any representative for Prince William at this meeting struck Pelham Turner as quite significant.
He remarked: “I thought it was very poignant that none of William’s team was at that meeting, and I think that picture was more a picture to William than it was to the rest of the world.”
The image capturing Harry’s two representatives alongside Charles’ envoy on a restaurant balcony, according to Pelham Turner, was intentionally staged to convey a message to William, signaling that events are unfolding with or without his participation.
This revelation follows reports that King Charles was moved to tears by an unforeseen remark from Prince William.
