Ukraine won’t give up land to bring an end to war but is ready to work with US President Donald Trump for real and lasting peace, said President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.
“Ukrainians will not give their land to the occupier,” Zelenskiy said in a post on Telegram and X.
The comments were Zelenskiy’s first response to Friday’s reports that discussions between Washington and Moscow center around a deal that would lock in Russia’s occupation of territory seized during its military invasion.

I do fear though that it’s just what Putin, Trump, Musk, and Un are hoping for. They want that western border with Poland.
Someone whispered “tariffs” into Trumps ear and now he can’t say anything else. All problems are solved with tariffs.
And then Putin whispered “Give up land for peace” in his ear, and now Trump believes that’s the solution, rather than defeat of Russia on the battlefield.
As they shouldn’t. Ever. Giving them anything is just allowing the obvious, that they will keep coming, keep taking.

Ukraine will defend each single feet of their Land. Russia can’t win. Ukrainian Army is well organized and good equipped. The morale is strong 💪

Trump and Putin making a deal behind Ukraine’s back. Trump doesn’t care what happens to Ukraine, he’s going to get what he wants; a face to face meeting with Putin. It’s all to make him look good. Russia satisfies Trumps ego, Ukraine won’t back down (as they shouldn’t) and we’re back where we were in March.
I find this tiring and frustrating, so I can’t imagine what the Ukrainian people feel like.

Appeasement doesn’t work
Ukraine won’t. But trump will. And the weak EU leaders might follow his lead just to end this war “somehow”. After that there’s not much Ukraine will be able to do. The only hope is to current ruzzian leadership to die in a piss puddle and this might shift the dynamics a bit in the future… Fucked up situation.
Putin knows he’s running out of time before his economy tanks, so this is his last ditch effort at trying to save face with the Ruzzians.
He absolutely should not be rewarded for his aggression so if the Ukrainians are willing to carry on with Europe’s help then screw Trump and bring Putin down for the good of everyone including good Russians who want Putin gone.

Ukraine was invaded by Putin’s Russia and you can’t expect the victim to hand over territory.

How is he going to get back all the land Russia took though? Ukraine doesn’t have the weapons or the manpower. Trump is willingly to stop aid as he is likely planning to do, and can stop intelligence as well which is needed. Europe is still not sufficient to give aid. After 3 freakin yrs.
I get not giving up Donetsk, demilitarization of Ukraine. That should not happen ever. But I don’t see Ukraine getting back areas like Crimea and Luhansk ever again; with that psycho planning to remain as leader of Russia until he dies.
The Russians are slowly advancing and Putin is willingly to sacrifice millions of his men to get his goals.

Putin has been ahead of Trump at every turn. A number of deadlines passed without consequences. As soon as there seems to be a realistic prospect of sanctions hitting then Putin says “let’s talk about it” which will give them more time. Putin cares nothing for the 1,000,000 Russian people killed or wounded in action, ge has never cared for his own, all he wants is to conquer and currently the USA are the nation helping facilitate this. It is not the USAs fault though, it is the fault of all our European leaders who have been sleepwalking for the past 80 years thinking we dont have to invest in defense because America is our allie……how wrong we were. It is long overdue that Europe should have a military to match anyone and spending in the defense sector is critical for the next 20 years.
Then what did Ukraine fight three years for? Only to hand land over? Any “talks” will take place over Putin’s corpse.
“Land for peace” is the wrong wording
First off, it’s “land *and people*”. Russia won’t be offering the people who are there freedom to leave. Even if that was offered, there are many reasons why people can’t or won’t leave. There’s also the thousands of children Russia stole, what happens to them?
Second, it won’t be “peace”. The same kind of oppressive, vicious, murderous bullshit that Russia has been doing in Crimea and Donbas and all the occupied territories will certainly continue. That’s not “peace”, it’s just “the victims can’t fight back”. Remember all the mass graves in Izuym… civilians, under occupation, not killed during combat but after. Many with signs of torture. Is that “peace”?
What leverage does Ukraine have? it’s hard to see this ending any other way, sadly. Probably better to bite the bullet now rather than lose more territory (and lives).
