  1. Well, not quite anyone. Id prefer him over the rapist or the gobshite

  2. I always thought it was funny that he gave the same excuse the mafia use to explain unaccounted money. “I had a good day at the races” 😂

  3. Bertie was a crook and should have been jailed. That said I think his administration was better for the country by building infrastructure and delivering housing. FG and friends have been in power for over 12 years and haven’t been able to deliver a sustainable number of units over the period. Haven’t intervened in the supply side of housing but are quite happy to intervene on the demand side to increase prices which seems odd considering they help service providers directly in other markets when it suits them.

  4. The mahon tribunal cost the Irish taxpayers €150million. This ham should not be let anywhere near office ever again.

    Edit: 150mil not 250.

  5. Its amazing how the media can whip up a storm.

There is really zero signs from FF that they are going to nominate Bertie.

Yet a few poll results showing the public as a whole prefer him to other FF candidates, and suddenly everyone thinks he is already in the race.

  6. The fact that this is even up for discussion is a pathetic indictment on the leaders and political class in this country.
But as the people of Tipp prove every time Lowry is voted back in ,a lot of Irish people are as thick as 2 planks.

  7. To be fair I’d prefer him to Conor Mac.

But they’re both in the same bin under the sink while “anyone else” is on the table

  8. If he is elected he has promised to give Irish citizens horse racing tips daily.

  9. If he runs I’m buying a tannoy system for my home and blasting CMAT for the entire campaign period

  10. Obviously goes without saying that you mean *literally anyone apart from that little criminal prick from Crumlin*. In that case, yes. Literally anyone.

  11. I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets in , look at the stupidity of Irish voters, we’re still voting for FF/FG come election time

  12. my pet theory is that Ahern has only allowed his name to be floated is purely to make life difficult for Martin, which I will allow.

  13. Anyone except him or McGregor – that’s how much I consider the two of them.

  14. “Glorified pub opener. With his big Bass head on him.” -my grandad, member of FF since he was 18.

  15. Not many houses were built after the economic crash because….
House prices had collapsed so much that it would cost more to build them than they could be sold for.
Banks were extremely reluctant and unable to lend.
The public finances were destroyed, the IMF and EU officials were literally in the Dept of Finance overseeing our economy.
Most developers were already bankrupted by the crash.
Yes FF built motorways, funded by an out of control exchequer return from the overheated construction sector, which they had been warned about was unsustainable. Again, we will be picking up the tab for those PPPs for decades.

  16. It’s such an indictment of Irish society that this cunt was never pursued or prosecuted for (at a minimum) his blatant tax fraud. Revenue would (rightly) go after a random farmer or factory worker for tax owed if someone just “gave” them a house or they mysteriously claimed tens of thousands of winnings on the horses or from a pub whip round. For Bertie… nothing. It’s a dirty club, and you’re not in it.

  17. Never forget he let his secretary get hung out to dry and torn apart giving evidence to cover up for him and he just sat idly by rather than have the courage class or honour to step in and tell the truth. A classless street gurrier is all he ever was ….

  18. The pension he’s getting is a fucking disgrace. He should be locked up with the key thrown down Cowens throat

  19. He will run.

He’ll get more votes than most of us would want.
    It could be close.

I don’t want it, but the age of people who remember the good times are the same age that will go out and vote.

This time line keeps telling me to hold its beer.
    I’ve no free hands left.

  20. Not literally anyone. Not McGregor. Not Gavin Pepper. Not any former presenter on Dragon’s Den. Not Mike…. Actually, Michael Flatley would be kinda hilarious. I’ll give you the Blackbird. No one can do what he does.

  21. I’ve learned to never underestimate the stupidity of the Irish electorate

  22. I couldn’t agree with you more. He is the very personification of entitlement from the political class. He has sucked at the tit of the Irish taxpayer all his fucking life and most of it while being a complete liar and fraud. Smarmy auld battered head on him.
