  1. A bit of an obvious one but here it goes: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said hostage ceasefire talks between Israel and Hamas collapsed the same day French President Macron announced France would recognize a Palestinian state.

He argued the move, along with similar threats from other countries, encouraged Hamas to avoid a ceasefire by portraying recognition as a victory. Rubio said such statements make reaching peace and a deal with Hamas more difficult.

Many in the world are currently outraged by Israel’s decision to expand the war. Which is very confusing for me.

If the western world, mainly Europe, is determined to get Hamas political achievements, of course they will refuse to end the war. As they did the day Macron decided to reward them with a state, and stopped negotiating all together.

Now what else do you expect Israel to do when they refuse to even negotiate? What do countries do when diplomacy collapses completely?

  2. I’m not sure how much trust I would put in Lying Marco here.

Dr. Gershon Baskin, an Israeli who has worked on negotiations to release hostages has said recently that Hamas was ready to release all hostages if Israel would withdraw from Gaza and exchange other Palestinian prisoners. I believe he has also said Hamas is willing to essentially disband, a civilian board would take over governing Gaza. They have not agreeded out right to laying down arms but the discussion among leadership is that they would be absorbed into other groups

  3. I’m sure “The Times Of Israel” is completely unbiased with no agenda or ulterior motives.

  4. Of course he would say that. The current US administration, despite campaigning endlessly on how there would be no war anywhere with Trump, continues to fail in these talks and now gets to scapegoat. And they already make it abundantly clear how much they despise Europe so this is two birds with one stone

  5. The protesters have blood on their hands. Hamas would have released the hostages by now if Hamas wasn’t getting so much support. Blinken said the same thing
