  13. So good of Trump to offer to swap Alaska for Eastern Ukraine.

    The current front line, adding the whole of the Donbass, is not strategically viable. Ceding the Donbass for the whole Kherson and Zaporizhzhia would only be worth it if it followed accession into NATO and the EU. Only after a referendum, and the return of all Ukrainians.

    Russia has already drained their stockpile, their economy is already very sick. If Russia wants to keeping sending 10,000 men to die a month, and 20,000 to be severely wounded, then they can for long time. They could probably last a few years defending the current frontline. This is not a good option for the Russian people.

    Either the US and Europe pull their finger out of their ass, or there is no victory scenario for Ukraine, they’re left with a long war or disagreeable settlement. For now it’s looking like a long war, because TACO will not follow through apart from in his pants when he trumps.

  20. World War II taught us that a humiliating agreement is not a good long-term solution. It could plant the seeds of the future war.

    Of course, Trump and Putin don’t care about this. Trump is especially lured into a short-term solution to project himself as the strongman who brought peace. Putin is interested in a solution that settles Russian territorial gains in Ukraine.

    They’ll seek a win-win solution for their own interests. The rest of the world should be ready not to buy it.

He does not, and is quite literally incapable of giving a single fuque about Ukraine, the war, or the terrible loss of life. Guaranteed, his only motivation is what ever is in it for himself. He wants a feather for his hat, and this buffoon honestly thinks he deserves a Nobel Prize.
