Russia to Cut Gas to Poland and Bulgaria, Making Energy a Weapon
Anyone knows what impact this could have? Are Poland and Bulgaria still very dependant on Russian gas ?
Don’t be surprised if those pipes are destroyed, recycled (for other fluid/gas or into tanks by Poland) or rerouted.
The next few months might be pretty rough. We can’t blink now though.
The important question is weather Putin wants this way to bump up average gas price or he intends to punish other countries by cutting them off the Russian gas.
It would be quite bad for Europe economy if he cut off now one of the biggest gas importers like Germany or Italy.
One rationale for him to do that is to cause pain to EU’s economy, since EU is gonna stop Russian import anyway within a year or two.

According to Polish press coverage Gazprom has stopped gas deliveries to Poland already on Tuesday, 26.04: https://next.gazeta.pl/next/7,151003,28379752,rosja-odciela-polske-od-gazu-grozby-putiny-sie-spelnily-pging.html#s=BoxMMtCzol1
