Why is Trump involved in this?
Putin does not want ALL the territories, as it will generate political instability in the country itself. He wants specific and important territories for Russian protection against NATO expansion.
As Russia doesn’t care at all about the ethical part. The tendency is for them to invade another nation like Georgia or Moldova next.
The Baltic countries I find unfeasible, more likely Russia will take a friendly approach with Poland, and ignore Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia.
Of course, it’s just my guess, if anyone finds something different, I’m happy to read it.

Seriously, they’ll make up some excuse to invade again after they licked their wounds. This current “operation” was under the guise of de-nazifying Ukraine.
Look Russia is the belligerent here, but they’re also the ones inside Ukraine and willing to grind out this war. I fail to see how Russia will accept any ceasefire and treaty that requires them to surrender the land it holds, not counting Crimea which they’ve held since 2014. The kharkiv oblast isnt a large bargaining chip.
However any treaty that does give Russia land without some kind of security system is asking for Russia to invade at a later date. How would putin feel if he got the territory but ukraine was free to pursue nato membership? Or if america, France, Germany and the UK were given land for military bases along the border?
Putin sees Russia as being all territories that were part of the USSR in the late 1900s, before it split into 15 republics. Which is roughly the boundaries of the Russian empire in the late 1800s. He has openly said as much.
What he hasn’t said as openly is that he also wants control over the former Warsaw pact, which includes Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania and the eastern half of Germany. He also wants Finland, which was a vassal state of the Russian empire for a period in the 1800s.
Get a reality check. He doesn’t intend to stop with Crimea and Ukraine’s four eastern provinces.

Key Point: Putin wants the heavily fortified areas of Ukraine handed to him on a silver platter. So if he would decide to restart hostilities, which ofcourse he would because its been working for him so far, it would be a whole lot easier for him.
I sure hope Europe steps up and backs Ukraine as much as needed should Trump try to pressure Ukraine.

And what is Zelensky’s endgame? To defeat Russia militarily? To have NATO boots on the ground? To continue this attrition war that he’s losing?
Don’t negotiate with terrorists and never give an inch to a tyrant. Zelenskyy knows this and so should everyone else by now.
