I was asked about the Irish supports by a friend in Germany helping out, figured this is generally good info to spread around. I am no expert, so please yell if anything here is incorrect or if if there’s a better summary somewhere.

# Immediate Support

There is a resource hub at Dublin airport to register Ukrainian refugees. Other airports can be used but registration, etc. will need to take place at a separate resource center.

* A visa is not necessary for Ukrainian nationals, nor is a COVID-19 test.
* Various forms of ID are accepted.
* Paperwork can be completed **AFTER** arriving in Ireland
* Temporary Protection registration is handled (unlocks further resources)
* Accommodation is provided, there is a mix of hotel rooms / unoccupied houses along with host families.
* [Here’s a summary of someone’s experience arriving in Ireland](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/mar/13/dublin-welcomes-dazed-ukrainian-arrivals-with-food-buggies-and-toys)

# Longer term supports

* Financial supports are provided (weekly, based on number of dependents)
* Work Registration Numbers (PPS) are available (but not at the airport). This allows people to get a job.
* Free SIM cards are given at Post Offices once the Temporary Protection registration is shown
* Healthcare is available through the Irish State system (same as everyone else)

# More info

* There are additional Ukraine support Hubs in Dublin, Cork and Limerick cities so if they cannot fly into Dublin they can still access the registration services.

* There is also a registration hub at the sea port of Rosslare, but I doubt many people will arrive that way.
