I am final year software engineering student who is done with all the courses, and as the rest of 10% of unemployed in the country looking for a job or at least the internship. But on Linkedin jobs posted get 100+ applicants in 2-3 hours after publication. I know that the job market situation is tough for everyone, but I wonder if you know any websites with job posting or companies that are currently looking for software engineers/interns with 1-2 years experience in this field?

I have already checked LinkedIn, tyomarkkinatori.fi and thehub.io but so far don't have any results.
Would highly appreciate any help!

PS. I speak English, Swedish and a little bit Finnish and I am a Finnish citizen if that makes any difference.

  1. Haha lol good luck.

No but move to Estonia, Poland or Germany to find coding jobs

  2. Consider targeting regions like the Middle East, Africa, or parts of Asia where the tech job market is far less saturated than in Finland. In many developing nations, there’s a well-documented “brain drain” skilled professionals, especially in IT, leave for higher-paying countries. This creates a constant gap in local talent and a steady demand for competent professionals.

Most people follow the flow outward. You could reverse it: go where opportunities are open and competition is lighter, secure an internship or role, build substantial hands-on experience, and then return to Finland with a portfolio that proves you’ve thrived in challenging, diverse environments. That international experience will set you apart from candidates who’ve only worked locally.

  3. Bullshit. Git gud, hg bad (except in thermometer).

  4. My entry point to the finnish job market a few years back was Internships at university (I studied at university of Helsinki) talk to professors and staff, being proactive helps there and I think is much less competition than internships in industry
